Etiqa Extends Free Home-Based Six-Monthly Medical Examination (6ME) Service For Foreign Domestic Workers With Its Maid Insurance
SINGAPORE -23 August 2018 - Etiqa Insurance is extending complimentary home-based six-monthly medical examination (6ME) service for foreign domestic workers (FDW) under their maid insurance plans.
This new feature provides both employers and their helper great convenience and savings, while addressing the Ministry of Manpower's (MOM) regulation for all employers to send their FDW for a medical screening every six months.
Living up to its mission of Humanising Insurance, the digital insurer is collaborating with Doctor Anywhere, a Singapore-based healthtech company, to provide this value-added service. This medical examination, which costs S$60 to S$80 per year, screens for pregnancy and infectious diseases such as syphilis, and is usually conducted in the clinic. The home-based 6ME service is conducted within the comfort of home, and this will be helpful for employers that may not have the time to travel to the clinic with their helper, or if the family has caregiving needs.
"We are excited to collaborate with Doctor Anywhere, as we believe that this benefit provides greater convenience to the household, while helping employers to save time and money", said Sue Chi Kong, Chief Executive Officer of Etiqa Insurance Pte. Ltd. Commenting further on the collaboration, Sue mentioned, "Strategic partnerships with like-minded organisations promise exciting opportunities and value, which we can extend to our customers."
Doctor Anywhere is a healthtech start-up with a mission to improve healthcare delivery through innovation and technology, such as providing video consultations with GPs and mobile nurse visits for screenings and vaccinations. The dynamic company has recently raised $5.6 million in a series A financing round, anchored by Kamet Capital Partners.
For a limited time only, ePROTECT maid comes with the additional perk of free medical check-up worth up to S$80 for foreign domestic workers, and is available for purchase on TIQ -- Etiqa's new digital insurance channel. (mor/roc).
